Utilities
The following utilities can be downloaded:
-
SunTimes is a command line utility that determines, for a given day or a period of time:
- the sun transit time, the sunrise and sunset times.
- the civil, nautical and astronomical morning and evening times. Twilight times are defined by a center of the sun 6°, 12° and 18° below the horizon.
- the day length between the sunrise and the sunset, as well as between the morning and evening civil, nautical and astronomical twilights.
- the maximum elevation of the center of the sun above the horizon (at transit), and the minimum elevation of the center of the sun on the previous and on the next days.
-
SunAltitude is a command line utility that determines:
- the sun altitude, i.e. the angle between the horizon and the sun center
- the minimum sun visibility height, i.e. the minimum height above ground level at which the sun upper limb is visible
-
SunAzimuth is a command line utility that determines, for a given day or a period of time:
- the times of sunrise and sunset
- the azimuth of the sun at sunrise or sunset
-
GRBlocator is a command line utility that determines the position of a celestial object in horizontal coordinates, azimuth and elevation, as well as the minimum height above ground at which it was visible. This is especially usefull to check if a GRB was visible at the sub reflective point of a VLF propagation path, and which layer of the ionosphere were illuminated.
-
emd is a command line utility that calculates the Empirical Mode Decomposition of a dataset.
-
GreatCircle calculates:
- short and long path distances between two locations on Earth;
- initial and final bearing;
- location of sub-reflective points for single-hop and multi-hops radio propagation modes.
-
LocConverter converts coordinates between the Maidenhead locator system and latitude/longitude.
-
envelope calculates upper and lower envelopes of a dataset.
-
fft is a utility to perform Fast Fourier Transform calculations.
